Also, can anyone confirm whether they take the fees anyway, regardless of progressing your application or not ie. are the fees non-refundable? I read two conflicting bits of info on the website.

I was looking at your posts on other threads and it seems you are still preparing your application.

It will be helpful if you can please clarify and share your NOC and application sent date etc.

This is a bit of a strange one, but on one of my forms I indicated that my son's marital status (he's 1!) is "never married" as I am almost 100% positive that this was one of the options I had to choose from and there wasn't anything like "single", strangely.

I've looked at the new guide pack and the options are "annulled marriage, common-law, divorced, legally separated, married, single and widowed", which makes more sense. Obviously these new forms and guidance came out after I submitted my pack on 6th July, however I know how strict CIC can be, so in your opinions, forum users, do you think they could send back my package because of this? I really hope not, as it's pretty obvious he's just a baby starting life!

Those of us who have mailed our applications before 18th July are okay.

These forms should be used when applying after 18 July and they will be mandatory after 14th November 2011.

I am guessing that when our cases are in process and we are asked for MR etc, we will be then asked to send updated forms. Just my guess.

But for now we are okay.

I read two conflicting bits of info on the website.  when your documents reach cio they will check it for completeness. when complete they will accept your processing fee. after this they will assess it if you pass the eligibility test. if you do not pass this stage they will return your payment, in some cases even your documents. if you pass this stage they will then forward it to your visa office (vo) and it's up to your VO If you can make it to VISA

Do you remember where you saw this guidance? I just can't seem to find it, even though I remember seeing it and thus following it and using it on my forms.
