Dear All

Though would post this...Some useful links for people trying to settle in Vancouver and surrounding cities. Vancouver is not very big and typically all these cities are very near and drivable. Sometimes, one does not even realize when he has crossed Langley and entered burnaby or vice versa. Vancouver is extremely expensive as per cost of living. So we all can also explore these cities like most people in British columbia do and travel to Vancouver downtown to work if thats where the office is. West Vancouver and downtown vancouver are the most expensive areas to live. Tier 2 could be Abbotsofrd. Burnaby, langley and most economical could be surrey.

This is only as per my information. I may be ignorant towards a few official demographical facts. However this is best to my knowledge. Explore these sites and may be you will get some idea... Just some information as good read while we are waiting for our PER/MR/PPR/PR..

Yes, Calgary is my first choice to live where though is wildly known the fastest  economic growing, however, is also thought a highly focus on one industry----oil related......which means people who could easily find jobs if involves in this industry, otherwise, would only find the entry level even lower skill jobs there.
    

You are right about that.  Today I was reading the news (huffingtonpost.ca) and got further confirmation that Ontario 1) is no longer the choice destination for immigrants, and 2) will be cutting back on healthcare and social services spending because of its ballooning deficit.  They will also likely raise water and electricity prices this year to raise revenues.  If Calgary had more than just oil, I will go to Calgary! Unfortunately, you are correct, right now it's just oil.

Looks like on an average they take 1 week from the day the tests are done to dispatch the reports /forms. Moreover the doctor was travelling last week & resumed work only on Fri . Guess,  there are too many reports on her table waiting to be reviewed. I always find myself at the wrong end of the queue wherever I go. Darn!! They do the immigration medicals for Oz, NZ & Canada. Only after she completes reviewing reports  & summarizes it , will she give me the photocopy of Sec A., which I am supposed to include as proof alongwith RPRF & PP.

Are you really a shy guy, Alain ? If yes,  how will you Tai Tai Phis ? hehehe, just kidding.

I was done with medicals on the 16th of December.  The DMP sent out my results only on the 26th of December.  I think part of the DMP code is to delay MR results for 10 days to see if the applicant suffers a heart attack while waiting.  Those who are still alive on the 11th day, and have all their hair intact, are deemed fit to enter Canada and get a lifetime supply of tranquilizers.

I know to ride a bike too....but a gearless one...it is such fun...I can't begin to tell you

I have a gang of girls here (my old colleagues who are dear friends now)...we went for a holiday to Goa and hired bikes...rode around town in the rain...it was amazing. Wish I would be able to repeat the same with my Canadian GOG!!!

I just found out the DMP sent out our reports today. First thing ..tomorrow morning at her office to collect my forms.

Oh no! Your DMP is in violation of the code!  It hasn't been 10 days.
