Dear friends, I need your advice on my case. I have checked ecas. Here is what I read - "We received your application for permanent residence on October 14, 2011. We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on January 10, 2012. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us." What does It mean? PER or NER? Besides I got email from CIC on 25 January - "Good Morning,
RE: APPLICATION #-----------
Please be advised application is currently awaiting review.
You will be contacted in due course."Any ideas...

Dear forumites,Can anyone please explain what are GCMS and CAIPS notes?I have heard rather read these terms on the forum a few times but don't have a clue! please help CAIPS is an acronym for Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System. It is the computer system used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for application processing outside Canada. Information is entered in the system from application forms and supporting documentation submitted by applicants for immigrant and visitor visas, returning residence permits and student and employment authorizations. The CAIPS computer system has been superseded by a new applicant tracking system called GCMS (Global Case Management System). (As of June 2010, all new visa files outside Canada will be processed through the GCMS.) Your CAIPS file will have valuable information on the processing of your application. CAIPS is NOT same as the "e-Client", which only provides limited information on the status of your application.

Generally CAIPS is ordered by someone who has been called for an interview. In the CAIPS u will find the remarks of the visa officer who will process ur application.. In that way u will know the reason y r u being called for an interview and accordingly u will b better prepared for the interview..........

Ok it means that otherwise checking the Ecas status is enough.
