First of all congrats on the good news... way to go Timhortons.

I was wondering with regards to the DD: my bank statement shows that my DD was in fact withdrawn from my account on the same date when I prepared it, i.e. before I even sent the application to Sydney (my balance was debited). What I don't understand is how do I know if my DD was in cashed by CIO if it is already debited from my account? I checked with my bank and they confirmed that it was debited on the same date.

Anyone can clarify this for me?? appreciate your answers guys,

You are right in saying that your account got debited the same day the DD was written. However, that money was then transferred to some canadian bank whose DD they gave you. Now you need to contact your bank and they will in turn inquire that canadian bank about the status of that DD. If the same has been honored and encashed, means your application is deemed COMPLETE by the CIO. Hope that helps!

mine was also DD.
you hace to call the customer service of your bank.
tell them u recently had DD give the date and the reference number of the DD.
THEN U ask IF DD has BEEN CLEARED on canada's end...
clearnce is impt to see if they have deposit it.

tell them. d amt in Cad encashed
and when was DD made.
last gie them the cheque no of the DD.
the very long digits( all of it)

then they will have to check on their end (bank to see) i cleared . they might get back to you in 3 working days time.

I'm planning to submit my docs next week but i'm not sure about what envelope size to use. In the Mail your application section, it's indicated there to use a 9" x 12" envelope. My dilemma is some of my docs are in a long bond paper so using the said dimension will force me fold my documents. Is it fine to fold my docs or it's better to use a bigger envelope instead?

I folded couple of documents and sent it through envelope given by UPS. I was not even sure if it was 9x12. I believe they accepted my app like that (my cc charged today). I dont think its a issue either way.

it reached on the 28th of Oct' 2010, the cap of 1000 for NOC1122 was reached on the 27th... lost it by a single day..

mine was same story last year as yours, still not sure if it was reached on last day
