Hi,

I'll soon be sending my full documents to New Delhi.
I have applied under the FSW visa.

I'm single applicant, unmarried and living with my parents.

My query is regarding funds.
As i lived and worked abroad since graduating in Inida.
I had opened a joint savings a/c with my father here in India.

Am going to show savings a/c and fixed deposit receips jointly held by me and my father as proof of funds.

Further I will attach a letter of consent signed from my father saying that these funds are entirely mine and can be used as per my convenience.

Also I will attach a letter to the visa officer, saying the reason to keep a joint a/c with my father was so that there was and has easy access, maintainance and for emergency as well as security of my funds.

My funds are almost 8 lakhs rupees. Approx 18,000 CAN $

Would this be fine? Please suggest.
Will be very kind of you.

Hey Rajesh,

See, If you're the principle account holder then you don't need to attach letters.

In today's world everyone has a joint account holder for their major bank accounts for security and other reasons

1. If you are 1st account holder then it is all right. If it is Second a/c holder then VO would not accept.
2. Be prepared to answer about the source of money.

Hi Rajesh,

I did the same and also got my father to execute an affidavit too.

However, going by what I read in the forum, it was clear that joint accounts were not accepted.

Hence I mailed the CHC-New Delhi- and the reply i receieved is posted in the following disucssion thread : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t47531.0.html

It would be advisable to keep the money in an account owned by you. This is only for time-being, once you land, you may choose to operate the account in any way you want. Do give your Dad an authorization letter and it can be liquidated in a matter of minutes, should there be an emergency.

I would strongly recommend a single account, either in your name or in anyone else accompanying you to Canada.

Dear All,
Recently my PR file for skilled worker was returned. No clear explanation was provided.
For the proof of funds,I provided a letter as my mother has the fund in post office and me as her nominee and got it stamped by regional post office.....I think, that might be the reason for return.

Now I am planning to re-apply.

I have funds in banks as liquid cash, Fixed Deposit and in postal deposits.I am planning to make a certificate from  Charterted accountant and attach notarized xerox copies ,of the Fixed Deposits,Bank statement and postal passbook. Will this be sufficient. The amount is coming around canadian dollars 19000(we are a family of 3).

Kindly help seniors.

Hi,

If your wife is co applicant, then it is fine otherwise VO will not count the money in joint account towards POF.

As per VO instructions joint account(s) other than with spouse are not included in POF.

Thanks

You need this money in your account as a single owner. I have seen in past that Joint account other than accompanying spouse are not accepted for what ever reasons.
