Hi,

As I am in the process of gathering my docs to be send to VO, seems the biggest hurdle for me is regarding getting a written statement for my job duties. It is not possible to get it from my present supervisor and HR has declined to give one. I have worked in 4 different projects in the same firm but all my previous supervisors have either left or I have lost touch with them.

Given the scenario, are individual letters from senior colleagues who had worked with me on those projects on company letterhead good enough? Is this known to have worked for anyone?

Please let me know.....any other ideas are most welcome...how do I go about proving my job duties??!!!

Thanks.

Well official document needs to be written and signed by company's authorities only. If you are unable to obtain any formal doc, prepare a letter on blank paper, attach an explanation letter (along with appointment letter or contract which itself carries job scope) in soft language mentioning the reason for not being able to provide official document.

Be sure to mention real responsibilities.

"Well official document needs to be written and signed by company's authorities only"..my point exactly. In fact, between my posts I spoke to a couple of senior colleagues and they are reluctant to sign on company letterheads, saying you could be potentially sacked for doing so, i.e using company brand/logo for this particular reason.

Hopefully I can get them to write on blank papers and attach their business cards along with the letters. Having said that, I am scared if this is a good enough proofor this should suffice..thoughts please? Anything else I could do here?

Hi Mave,

Although, I am yet to receive MR\PPR, I did exactly the same thing. Experience written in blank paper, signed by the dept. head & attached his business card. My consultant said it is ok. But company letterhead is more acceptable.

Regards..

Dont worry...just step up. These issues are very common for VO.

asyousuf/explorer - thanks a ton for sharing your views/suggestions!

Yes I dont want to get into any legal issues for using my company letterhead in a manner I am not supposed to, so letters of reference on blank paper along with business cards is the way forward for me I guess.....no second thoughts for I dont have any other options!

Thanks again!!!
