Job before landing

I am a PR visa holder yet to land in Canada. I have applied for several jobs online but have never recieved any positive responses. What's the best way to land a job before actually setting foot in Canada? The main advantage of having a job beforehand is that I can straightaway move to the province where I have the job offer on hand.

I had been interviewing for several jobs prior to landing.  I found it very difficult to actually land a job in Canada not being there.  I applied on adds, contacted recruiters and spend lots of money flying back and forth to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal for interviewing.  I got to the point where I decided to simply just move and figure out something when I got there.  Note that I was applying under Family Class outland and me and my spouse was living together outside Canada and I didn't need a visa to visit Canada.  All the time and money invested finally gave result though and I was offered a job 2 weeks before we moved.  I landed, got my SIN number and started my new job 48 hrs after landing!   

So if you are out of luck, decide where you want to live, move there and if you work hard enough you will land a job.

Or alternatively, build up a good and self-generating income in your native country, and ensure this income is good enough to support you while you are in Canada. Then you choose a cheaper province to move to (so that the income is sufficient to support you), land at that province, and look for a job there.

You will have time at your disposal since you will have an ongoing income from your native country covering you till you land a good job. There is no pressure to quickly land any job that goes by you.

Hi guys

Im from portugal, no need for a visa to go to canada, will it be easier to go there and look for a job that will give me temporary permit, and after that... can i get a resience permit after some time or the persons that go there and get a temporary permit after a certain amount of time are sent away.

Albertopt,... I believed you can go there as a tourist,... without needing to apply for a visa,... but under Immigration Laws, you are not allowed to start working there. But yes, I believed you can look around for a job,... and if you managed to secure one, then you are able to utilise the AEO method for FSW if your prospective employer is willing to help you do some paperwork and administrative functions.

Then again, CIC will still need to approve that position.

If everything works out fine, then you will get your Landing Card,.. after which you can go there and start your job (and of course, your life) in Canada.

have you heard of any companies in restaurant management that have done that for future employes, if yes can you name some as it will narrow my search.
I am very keen to go there it looks like a wonderfull country, i am also improving my french has we already got portuguese, spanish and english.

what is the AEO method and FSW?
where i am from you need a visa to go to canada (just to visit) is it possible for my husband to go over on a holiday visa (he has family there to support him) find work and have his company apply for a work visa from within Canada?
