 i am an obstetrician in the process of immigration,am concerned about availability of jobs.canany one tell me is it essentail to pass qualifying exams and go for clinical assessment?

1.  Yes you will have to your qualifications assessed and write
a.  Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination and if you pass
b.  Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Parts I and II.
c.  Then you would have to find a residency position, very difficult for foreign trained physicians.

Do they ask this before final approval? seems like any one who doesnt want to appear in exams  to get a licence has no future !

No. But I believe before you can secure a job you must have passed the said exams else you will have to look for jobs in other fields.
