Hello All,

My wife is going to land next week and I have a few questions. She will be bringing some personal Jewels (about 180 gms of gold) and a diamond ring (CAD 500 worth). The diamond ring was bought in Canada and I gave it to her during the wedding. Is there any problem in bringing them?

Hey, before I landed, I took the pictures of each of my jewelry and write down on them the approximate price, since we don't have an appraisal in Lebanon, because that what I read on immigration site. When I landed in Toronto in July, the custom didn't even bother himself to look at my list of goods, so I am sure she will be ok. Welcome to Canada

Hey Rorita how are you???
One question for you. My husband is transferring over 10k through the bank to his account in Canada. Should he claim it when he arrives.

Hey Marlena, we meet again here...how are you today? well I just reply to someone concerning the money by saying  don't have any idea...Smiley) I didn't have much money to declare, so I guess not sure that he has to declare to the immigration that he has transefered money, because they have to know if someone is bringing money more than 10K

if you transfer money - there's no limit for receiving it in Canada, though there can be a limit in the local country - where you send it from.

No, you don't have to declare money that you intend to transfer later. Only the money you actually have with you.
