I applied on Dec 6th, 2010. Buffalo received my application on Dec 9th, 2010. I received my file number (via email) on April 12 and mail copy of AOR early May (Don't remember the exact date). I received the Medical request on July 14th. I did my medical on Aug 10th and the medical was sent on the 26th of the same month to Ottawa. Checked with the Doctor's office everything was fine. Haven't received any communication from CIC (Buffalo) since then... e-cas shows they started processing my application on Aug 3, 2011 (Can anyone tell me why so late?)...

I have the following questions.

I am planning to apply for CAIPS notes. How long does it take?

I sent an email to CIC to end of October enquiring about my case. They said it is still under process and they are unable to give me a date. Is it OK if I ask for a status update again now? (as it has been over 13 months now) Would it delay my application further?

CAIPS/GCMS notes take about 1 month to receive.

No way to know why your case is taking so long - there are so many individual differences, times will vary.

The only way to know why is it taking long and what was the last correspondence to order GCMS/CAIPS and that should outline the very latest action taken by CIC.

I suggest you apply it soon. So you can have an idea if there is something they are waiting for.

I just sent my CAIPS/GCMS notes application. Hopefully I'll receive by first week of February.

Can one of you please tell me whether it will wise to send a Case Specific Enquiry to Buffalo asking about my application status? I sent them an enquiry end of October. (Is it true, that they delay the application process if one sends too many enquiries about their application process?)
