Hello everyone,

I fell in love with a Japanese girl. We have known each other for a year seeing each other back and fort through Japan and Canada.

She came here Sep 09 with a holiday working visa. We are now looking into ways of being able to extend her stay here in Canada.

Unfortunately she is married to another man...but she is getting a divorce. She has his last name on her passport and papers.

If we were to get serious and we decide to apply for Common Law would the name change hinder this process?

She has only until Sep 2010 to stay here...i would really like for her to be able to stay longer.

Please advise.

thanks

She has to get a divorce before proceeding with the conjugal application.
