I meant to add... I've personally contacted some of the members that appear to be inactive. I've heard from a few but a handful must have left the forum based on their last active dates... Hopefully they return to us with good news soon!

Wool hoo! Congrats the new approvals! Such an amazing feeling "eh"  Grin

I've updated the spreadsheet.... Active members please look it over if there is any correction I need to make pls let me know...I go mostly by the posts as not everyone PM me.

It's easy to fix though so let me know if you see anything wonky.

The approval date column is the day you get your passport back in hand...there is nothing more official than that  Smiley

thanks Amanda, that's right, its a great great wonderful feeling!!!

I have not called Canadian Cooperation Office in kathmandu...I guess i will try calling them today...I work from 6 in the morning..so the time difference is a problem too...my husband tried calling CIC New Delhi today..man man...they act like the diamond is going to fall from their mouth if they open it...lol...my husband said that he asked if it was ok to send the passport..and the lady in the front desk said "Oh! I cannot answer, You have to write an email and it will be answered within a month or so.".....anyways..i don't believe that they are going to answer...so let me try canadian aid office in nepal... As for the PPR....I received it in USA through regular mail....

It asks to pay Landing fee, if not paid, send police clearance reports, if not submitted...and send original passport.

And it says Passports cannot be returned to addresses outside of India, Nepal and Bhutan..

Basically that means, they won't be sending me passport back to US rather would send it to Nepal....so I have to send them my parent's address along with the passport....

Did you try emailing ND? It seems like that's the only way to get them to answer, although it might not be timely. Even though KTM office will not know the specifics pertaining to your case, as they're only a front, they'll be more willing to speak to you and answer if it's something they know. For example, my wife calls them every Tuesday after 3 PM to see if her PPR has arrived (the diplomatic pouch containing passports and PPRs comes only once a week). In fact, it was the office that gave her the number during a personal visit. Now, can you imagine ND or CIC even willing to let you through the front door or answer your calls.

Call the CCO number. It only takes 5 mins. If you can't, have your family call or go in person. It's an easy office to deal with, none of that we don't talk to anyone nonsense. If I were you, I'd first call them to confirm, and then send your passports to your parents and have them take it to CCO in person, get a receipt for it. Have them keep calling CCO until the passport arrives back (3 weeks from a couple of anecdotes), go to CCO office when it does arrive and pick it up and fedex it back to you. You can enter from US and get the landing papers and life is good. Then maybe you can go home in time for Dashain.

Great feeling.. and what a HUGE relief after 97 days!!

And yes... they should be doing the quarterly update! They should have last week actually. But then again, some people's apps take 97 days... so they evidently like to take their time  Angry

You have paid your landing fees and sent the police clearance reports? If not you need to get on that right away. Since I also went to school in US two different states, I'd to get clearance from two state police and FBI when I did mine several years back. If you lived in Nepal after you turned 18, you'll need clearance from them as well.

It's great you got all the clearances out of the way. My guess is, you won't be called in for an interview. All the best.

Her weekly queries have been whether her PPR had arrived and the answer has been no. Before that she went to the office and asked about how often they received visa related documents, and the answer was every tuesday. She asked them whether they received PPRs and it was indeed where she had to submit her passport and their answers were affirmative to both. They even gave her the number to call and told her to call after 3 PM on Tuesdays. Based on that feedback, I think they've been willing to answer. The only thing they won't answer, and are not privy to, are queries regarding application status or something of that nature.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!, SPONSORSHIP APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!,  Grin.  My sponsor received our Approval Letter from Ottawa yesterday!, thank god!, it's been a long wait!, I'm just glad that part is done.  As my sponsor lives in Quebec, the next step is for her to send off the CSQ FORM which I have already completed and she has with her.  Just a question, does anyone know how long this CSQ step would take?, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take all that long for them to make a decision.  After that they forward our application to the Sydney Visa Office for further processing.  Does anyone know what month I'd be looking at for this all to be completed?, just wondering what are the different steps that our involved in this process.

Thanks for answering my questions and may many more Januarians get approved!.  Smiley
