I called the Call centre because CIC-M received my application Jan 24. The lady on the phone told me that if it shows Jan 25, it means that they are sending approvals for applications sent 2 weeks prior, meaning Jan 11 applications. Apparently, until it shows working on Feb 7 applications, that's when they're actually working on Jan 25 applications, and to call in 2 weeks if I do not receive approval. Hmmm I don't know if I should believe this info....
What number to call CIC...I have been trying the call center number but it keeps saying its not a valid number...helpppp...the number i have is 888-242-2100

1-888-242-2100... then when the computer talks.. press.... 1 then wait, then press 1, then 1, then 1 and finally 0 to talk to someone... So 1-888-242-2100.....1-1-1-1-0 to talk to someone good luck. you can get through all that in about 8 seconds.

That is the number to call from within Canada so if you are the applicant and currently outside of Canada, you cannot call that number. You will need your sponsor to call on your behalf.

If it helps, this always works for me (calling from Ontario): 1-888-242-2100 ... listen to the recorded options, press 1, more options press 2, then more options press 2 again to finally be connected to an agent.

I found this on a different thread on this site, plus I have done it myself from abroad and it works: +1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)

This is a good question! My husband had to obtain 5 police record checks all with vastly different app procedures and timing. At this point, nearly 3 months later... dont worry police clearance and medical both are valid for 1 year. they ask you to send not older than 3 months because if it should last until they finish working on your application.(1st and 2nd stage). if your application took more than 1 year then they will ask you again to do medical only not PCC. best of luck

My husband called them yesterday and they have absolutely no record of our application. My husband asked them to atleast confirm if they recieved it and the agent said they will check and we should call after 4 weeks.

Thanks! What a relief! So, you mean (just to be clear) that they will not ask you for new police record checks, even if takes more than one year to process both step 1 and step two??

It sounds bad, but I would just try to be patient (trust me, I know it is hard to be patient!). I really get the impression that CIC-M is going through changes and have a huge backlog. Unfortunately, we Januarians seem to be the ones paying the price. I have faith that it is all just a matter of time. Also, when I called regarding my app about 2 weeks ago, I got the same reply as you (no record of it), but then received an AOR a couple days after that phone call.

Thanks for your reply. I just hope I get an AOR soon too. I am worried they might have lost my application!

Heavens, closed embassy, I hope they end up sending your application to a FASTER VO if that is the case!
Oh dear... my police certificate was issued 3 months ago... I'm guessing if it takes another month to send on to my VO, they'll be expecting new police certificates? Or does it only need to be valid for Mississauga?
actually the closed embassy was the faster one (at least on paper)...now they will either send it where we reside (very slooooooow) or to the one which replaces the closed one (which is new in this and has no timelines at all)...time will tell....let's get the sponsor approval first abt the police certificate it's different from country to country; on the ones we got now and i had before (3 different countries) it's written valid 90 days; some embassies will ask for new ones some won't....the embassies which usually take longer than 1 year ask for new ones when they r ready to issue the visa also it does not matter that it passed 3 months already, as long as they were valid when Missisauga said the application was received it's fine
