HI i just sent my spouse visa application today on 23rd of January. It will probably reach mississauga on 26th. how will they contact me when they recieve my application? by email or letter to my canadian home address? thanks

they don't usually tell u when they receive it they will tell u when they approve it as per how they will tell it depends from officer to officer; some still use the good old way - letter while others prefer the email

Need some help folks! Just about to send my forms off to Vegreville, AB (In-Canada spousal application), however, both my work permit and non-Canadian passport expires in August 2012.
Should I send the forms with the old information (passport & work permit)? Since the wait time is 10-11 months for an in-Canada spousal application, how should I apply for a work permit?

hello wish i could help u but everyone here is going through outland process; the inland one it's pretty different so i have no clue; try to find the vety large inland thread and ask there or just make a new thread with ur question; good luck!

January appliant here! My husband is the sponsor and I am the impatient wife in the states. lol
After some delays with the fingerprints for the FBI certificate, we finally sent off the package and it was rec'd January 6 in Mississauga. The waiting begins!

Here's to hoping the new year brings us quick processing times so we can be with our families!

Hi Guys   Glad that I've found this site!

     I am Canadian and sponsoring my wife who is from Europe... I Mailed away my application January 11, 2011  and received conformation from Canada Post stating that it has been successfully delivered to CIC-M on January 13,2011.  Also for my timeline (as things happen)... I have already paid the Landing Fee ahead of time.. I heard that it can extend the whole process by up to 2 months if not included... I also have had the Medical Tests done October 31, 2011 and the doctor said that once Ottawa checks the results, they will forward the results to the V/O in Vienna Austria... So that should be there ahead of my application... hopefully that way, things will flow smoothly.
In my application for proof of being with each other... I only had 1 airline ticket (did not know from the start of my relationship that I should keep such things).. However I included all the Email Printouts of my E-tickets from Expedia, Selloffvacations etc.. I hope that proof is enough for them.. They can always call up and ask... and the pages of my passport with stamps showing entry into europe... My package was probably 1.5 - 2 KG... I think that I gave enough proof??  I also heard, historically that the waiting time for Family Sponsorship isn't always as high as it is now.. I've read 30-something days in the past.. hopefully it'll drop from 68 so we Januarians can be with our families A.S.A.P.!  I'll inform you guys of the entire process as it happens to me, to help others going through this... All of you doing the same will really help calm me down  Good Luck to you all.. we're all in this together! Thank goodness we have an outlet to talk to each other oh and 9 months in Vienna for 80% of the cases... Please, oh please lets hope we're the lucky ones who are finished well before that amount of time.. I'll go nuts!!

Hi, if you are asking me....no I haven't rec'd anything from them. Based on what I've been reading I don't except any response from them for at least 2 months or so.... As long as you can confirm they received it (based on your tracking number from the courier you used) that should be enough to help you relax and not worry so much.  This is so stressful, we all know but just try to stay calm and before you know it time has passed and this will all be over.   

I'm so grateful that our app is even at their office....4 months ago we were not even close to this stage....and the last 4 months have gone by pretty quick!

Stay positive and patient and all good things will come

Hi everyone! I just mailed off our application a while ago thru Purolator Express Pack 10:30am, so the package SHOULD arrive in CPC-M at 10:30 am tomorrow. hehehe. When it does, then I officially belong here in this batch! yey! 

Question to those who sent their applications earlier, am I going to receive a letter or an email (or BOTH?) saying that they received my application?
How long will the email and letter arrive? Thank you everyone!

I think some people get emails right away to say they received it but I think majority of us will get AOR once they start looking at them...they are still on working on Novembers applications now.

Our Jan group isn't too large so hopefully by the time they start working on ours it will move quick.

Oh I agree! next plane ride will be together taking vacations! =) whew, i hope the days and months will just fly by..
