IT sector jobs

Hi,

I'm just hoping to get some feedback to those who are already there, what are your experiences in getting a job in IT, whether in managerial position, developer, support , etc. Did you have to wait very long, or find it competitive, or still struggling in a survival job ? Is the market still soft ?

I keep reading how tough it is in reality, after initially hearing about the rosy part. The worse part is if the plan goes wrong, you would have burned off a lot of good money (possibly a significant sum of retirement money) if you have to come back to your country of origin.

Please share with us, the good and the bad. Just to keep expectations realistic at this point in time.
