Hi All,

I have just got my immigrant VISA stamped.
I am planning to land in Canada in Aug-2011 for 2-3 weeks and get my PT card and then return back to India.

I would like to know how is the IT job market in Canada ?
I have abt 13 Yrs of exp and working as a Project manager for past 5 years.
Am already working towards PMP designation.
Also, Can I do the job search even after returning back to India ?

Any pointers would be really helpful.

Best Regards,
Sharat Joshi

Hello Sharat
Congratulations on getting the VISA stamped.
Regarding IT jobs and understanding that you are already a project manager and attempting PMP, my suggestion would be to complete PMP ASAP and have it included in the resume. I found that the number of calls that we get are far more higher when you have PMP in your resume. Also- for some companies if you apply and if unfortunately it does not proceed further, they would always ask a question at the time of applying as - have you applied before. Not  sure what the implications of that question is- but that has made me think as to what the employers want to find from that.
Nevertheless- these are my opinion and I am sure there are exceptions and what I stated is not always true.
Good luck
Thanks,

Thanks for the encouraging words buddy.
Well, atleast in India, the implication of this question is, If you say YES, they will check why you were not selected.
If it was a tech reject case, your profile will not be considered.
I think for Canada companies also, it will be the same rule.

By the way, what are you doing over there ?

Thanks,

Hi, I'm a pharmacist from the Philippines and I'm planning to take the pebc evaluating exam and I'm planning to practice in Alberta. I've read all the requirements to practice as a pharmacist in Alberta and they require pharmacy internship. I've found this on their site:

Pre-requisites for intern registration:

1.Successfully complete the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Evaluating Exam );
2.Meet English language fluency requirement;
3.Be a permanent resident, Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or hold a valid employment visa.

My only problem is the third requirement. I'm not an immigrant in Canada and I plan to apply for a temporary resident visa only to sit for the PEBC Evaluating Exam. Can someone please tell me how to acquire a valid employment/working visa? Can I just apply to any community pharmacy in Alberta for internship during my stay there as a temporary resident visa holder? Thank you very much.

Hi,
Well, all I can say abt this is that "This is not the correct thread for your question".
You can search the threads related to Pharmacist and can get a lot of info in this forum.

Anyways, all the best for your search.

I am a Nigerian working having over 15 years experience in IT and currently working as a system development manager in one of the top insurance broking firm. I'm considering of migrating to Canada with my family. Kindly advise on the possibility of securing a job quickly in my chosen field. Can you assist in searching for a job?
Any advise will be highly appreciated.
