Hello Guys,
I have just received my PR visa for Canada. Is WES (http://www.wes.org) evaluation useful for me? I am thinking of doing my masters in Canada after i reach there. Anyone has done a WES credential evaluation before and found it useful? Please share your experiences.

Thanks in advance

If you  plan to study further in Canada , credential evaluation is the basic requirement, no other choice and you need to get it done. Be it WES or someother organisation.

Yes, it is useful, even when applying for jobs.  The job agencies ask you for your credential evaluations.

You can also do your evaluation from ICAS instead of WES.   WES has very stringent standards for document submission.  They require university transcripts stamped by the Controller of Examinations and put in a university sealed envelope.

ICAS requires only certified true copies of your marksheets.

What is the process with WES. Do we submit the online application first and then submit the paper documentation. Please help.

Hi nitroxn,

Well, I already sent my diplomas to WES. So first of all, I applied on-line, opened an account then at the same time sent documents and a draft cheque altogether to WES Toronto. Now, I am still waiting for their final answer.

I believe it is important to get them evaluated either for studies or job hunting.

Bye

Do we need to fill out this form
http://www.wes.org/ca/required/International_Transcript_Request.pdf
if we are sending the official transcripts attested by the controller/registrar ourselves instead through the university.

Thanks in advance

Friends,

I am not in favour of WES because for many qualifications it is waste of money. For example, if you are a pharmacist, they have their own body to evaluate your credentials. Pharmacists to PEBC, Nurses to their council, Lawyers to FLSC, Sworkers to CASW..... etc.

consider that please!

what is your qualification nitroxn?Huh

best regards

I have a bachelors degree in computer engineering. i am not entitled to be certified by PEO as it requires one year of supervised practice. Also, does WES allow our academic transcripts to be transferred to any universities that we are applying in canada. the problem is that for every application that i make for admission, i would be required to send copies of attested degree/certificates which is costly and cumbersome. So please advise.

thanks in advance.

Hi,
as you mentioned about nurses and pharmacists and their own organisations and councils,
have doctors also their own body?
And what is name of their council ?

Yes Lina-Ida doctors have to evaluate their  medical degree, diplomas, post graduation certificates from Pcrc.
They send your verifications to Mcc(medical council of Canada).U can't take any exam before evaluation of your degree.
Hope this helps!!
