1.  Anyone here who landed Canada who brought some cash, checks and the rest as US Bank Statements?

2.  I am considering to do this so I do not need to carry 10K or more than 10K as required for POF.  I plan to just wire transfer my funds from US when I finally have a Canadian bank account. Is this possible?

3.  Also, should the amount in the Bank statement be included in the customs monetary declaration??? If I am bringing 3K cash, 5K checks and the rest of 8K in the form of bank statement) should I declare total of 16K or just 8K (cash and check)?

4.  Should I fill-up form E677 and bring that along with me if I decide to carry more than 10K?  Is this form applicable only for those who landed via road or can i use this form also if i land via plane?

Please shed some light on this matter.  thank you.

Adding to my questions and confusions below:

If I am bringing US Bank statements with my ATM card with me, isn't it ATM card good as Cash? So if i am bringing 3K cash, 5K checks with 6K in the form of US Bank statement/Letter with ATM card, am i considered carrying 14K???

i am totally confused and I fear about what I read people being penalized, money seized due to non-declaration of money taken out from US and bringing in to Canada..

please shed some light about my questions...thanks

We are family of 4 and landed on the 12th March,2011 at Pearson airport with  $3000 cash ,$3000 HSBC Cheque, and rest in a US Bank statements with Visa Card. You are good to come with your bank statement, i used a US Bank Statement and filled bank wire transfer on  a pre-filled declaration form and was accepted by the officer.
