Is this the final stage?

Hi all.
I received a call from the officer that conducted my security interview in october 2010 interviewing me through the telephone asking me almost the same questions he asked me in the interview and asking me if my wife is living with me or canada and i told him she is living in canada only comes with my child every year to visit me,and if we are communicating still. we talked about 45 minutes and he told me he will get in touch with me soon.
Is this the last stage after all this long wait and why he called me to ask me same qeustions abt my security interview again? Are they finished with the background verification?
 And he told me that he will not still say they approve me or not yet but will contact me soon.
please someone help me to clarify this concerns.

The only people who can say if they are finished with the background verification are from CIC.  Depending on how long ago your first interview was, they may have gone over the questions again to see if your answers still match up.
