OK I have a question. I have a history of hypertension for the last 1.5 year. I consulted a heart specialist, he suggested lots of tests (blood, urine, ECG, echo etc.) and thankfully all came normal. he suspected family history a culprit and prescribed  "verapamil" to control my BP which I am taking regularly.

Although I am far away from medicals but I need suggestion what I can do now. I am thinking of multiple scenarios and need u guyz advice.

First, I tell DMP abt my problem and show him the reports. what will DMP do? will he advise more tests and will this cause a delay for my app?

second, I don't tell DMP abt this problem and try to control my BP on test day. but I wonder will my urine test will give away medication intake? do they check urine for drug use ??

third, a bit risky, I stop taking medicine a month ago. I think a month is enough time for medication effects to go away from urine. I try to control my BP by other means and then go for medical and just don't tell DMP abt hypertension history?

I know hiding is not a good move but I just don't want to volunteer the information that will delay my case.

any advice?

Dear yesIcan,
(funnily that was our tagline at Radisson Hotel)

Your med condition is nothing to worry abt. There r scores of applicants in ur same shoes. And in our age, job, environs... it is quite common ailment now-a-days. What 'accounts' said perfectly makes sense, I did that.
boss 7 days before medicals drinkl lot of water eat raw salads, dont smoke, no drink, eat lot of cabage (raw), do not take non veg, watch comedy films, do not take tension..Every thing will be fine

1. I am a High BP, High Cholesterol, Blood/proteins/other precipitates in urine case, diagnosed since 1 yr.
2. I'm on heavy medication (7 diff tabs/caps a day) since then. Alongwith a kidney flush syrup taken now-n-then.
3. My medications continue till date; and is 'lifelong prescription'.
4. Presently, due to all these medications, the problem is under control. But, if I stop...

Thus, my situation is similar to you. However, I have CLEARED my meds ! I had informed the DMP, given copies of all my prognosis/diagnosis, there was no problem though while taking the immigr medicals, probably 'coz I did what 'accounts' said.

Good show, 'accounts' !
All the best, 'yesIcan' !!!

You won't have any problem, my mother and two sisters have diabetes, and I'm usually on the higher threshold when it comes to triglycerides and I disclosed everything to my DMP. I take no medication because I don't have any condition to take them for and I got PR so no worry about that.

Hi Qorax, you are a beacon of hope!!!

We went for a check up with our doctor last week just to see if everything ok, i came up with high BP, ( am very overweight and bmi of over 40) , and my husband came up with protein in his urine. We are taking meds for the bp, and he is taking meds for the cholestrol, bp, and sugar ( although its not a problem anymore), and are so so tensed its not funny!!

we recieved our medical request just before the weekend, and now working actively to get just that little bit fitter than usual for our medicals that we need to do within 60 days....! please advise if you think anything will help us?

thanks so much!!!

From now till the day of meds, both of u seriously do the following...
1. No non-veg any more [max once-a-week]  -Can u do that?
2. One Perrier bottle of Purified Water [minimum] a day -more the better.
3. Regular Exercising, if u can do, good for U  -I couldn't.
4. Hubby -cut into your smoking [if u r into it]
5. Enough of Soups, Salads, veggies etc.
6. No more trips to Starbucks/Barista, McDonalds, KFC & the like.

24hrs. prior to the meds...
1. Only on 'liquid diet' & salads.
2. The Perrier doubles or at least 1.5.
3. A good cozy sleep -take an off from work, if u can.

That's about all... which'll do the trick.

All the best !
