I will move to sask. after my diploma, so if you can give me an idea if there is any racism in saskatchewan? if yes is it open racism?, for example- honking cars at dark colored people etc.

I think you have been watching too many films Smiley

There is racism everywhere in the world, but in Canada it is certainly not at the level you describe.

Been here in Saskatchewan for 6 weeks, so far people have been nice... My husband has been here since 2008 and what you described has not happened so far. At work it's all about seniority, you don't get more opportunities for growth just because you're Canadian... From being a production labourer, my husband is now a Maintenance planner at the manufacturing plant that he's been working for, chosen becausr of his qualifications not the color of his skin...

Hope that puts your mind at ease Smiley

Trust me on one thing, racism and discrimination are everywhere but if you keep your mind concerned with worth stuff, you won't have time to think about it.  Cool

Don't be paranoid with negative thought if u re a better person,I think u will be fine.Neither this country nor any of the province re racist.learn to reason out of your box, you ought to think of the idea of getting out of your country if you re afraid of vehicle honking on u.Don't be sensitive to colored different from yours.

I have lived in Regina, SK for 5 years and Saskatoon, SK for 2 years and I have never seen any racism. In fact, our countries are more racist than Canada. Workplace has to be respectful and your job opportunities are provided with your experience and qualifications.
Thanks
