Dear Folks

I just wonder if someone give me clue if there is a minimum period we need to stay in Canada once you landed and/or in the first year?.

I've heard that we need to stay 6 months in the first year is that right or just wrong information?.

Another question if we assumed that you  left the Canada before you receive the permanent residence card is it legal to be sent in mail or not?.

Thanks

according to my agency, you can stay there like a month once you first landed, then you can always go back to Canada after that. You just need the entry stamp to justify the 1 year period given on the expiry of the visa from received of medical Instructions.

Hmm i think there is NO minimum time. Once you land visa officer will evaluate if you are moving now or not...you will get stamp accordingly. If he is satisfied and you do have address for PR card, you will receive PR card there.
ALWAYS advisable to collect PR card and then move. And I think its illegal to send the card via mail/courier.

There is no minimum period that you have to stay in Canada after you have completed your record of landing. You can catch the next plane back to your home country if you want to.

However, in order to be eligible to renew your residency (5 years from the date you land), you must have lived in Canada for 2 years (730 days) during that period. These days do not have to be consecutive, thus allowing for a great deal of flexibility.

Also I would recommend attending a CIIP course after you get med requests!

pr card is  federal property and is considered as confidential and sensitive hence it is illegal to send it through mail. however people do that all the time. need not to remind about rsks involved n sending through mail.
