The questions says it all!

How is the listening part of the IELTS?  Is it easy to get lost?   How was it listening to the recording? Did anyone here find it hard to catch up to the recordings?   I am taking the test in two weeks and I am a bit worried about the listening part of the exam!  Huh

It is really unfair to put 7.5 in listening section. Scoring above 7 is really tough. T
I scored 7 in the listening section btw. What really helped me was to be alert for full thirty minutes and writing down answers quickly. If u write slowly there is a high chance that u miss answers to the following questions . So take a lot of practice tests this way you will feel confident

I would suggest the following:
1.  Do 2-3 practice tests, in exam condition, ie total silence [swithc off phone, etc] and in nice "bright room" with small desk.  exam halls usually have bright white flourescent light.  This will make you feel comfortable with the flow, format, ie you do not face any surprises on the day.
2.  Anticipate:  you are given time to read the questions before the recording is played. So read questions and anticipate what to look for to complete the answer.  You pick out answers from the recording to "fit the jigsaz puzzle".
3.  Focus and listen:  When the recording is played, you MUST really listen carefully and try to fit correct answer.  If I remember correctly, the answers that you pick from the recording follow the sequence of the Questions.  Keep following the recording; do NOT stop or pause listening.  I know someone who did not listen for a few seconds [tried to search around here and there] and lost some points!
4.  Sleep well on the night before.  On exam day, stay calm and focus/concentrate.

Best of luck.
