Is it possible to go thru 2 or more different placement agencies?

I have been laid off from work, I am a live-in caregiver and has served my 18 months already but I only have until March 2010 to stay here in canada.

I have been looking for work so I can finish my 24 months caregiving program but the first agency i applied with can not give me a job placement, is it ok to go with other agencies who can help me? I asked this because i mentioned to the owner of the placement that i am entertaining other interviews from people who responded to my ad on the internet and she said they should get intouch with her, and i don't think those people would want that. I am wanting to go thru diff agencies because my time is crucial, I have to finish the remaining 6 months or i will lose my pr opportunity. Am I breaching something if i do this?
