My husband is in Canada and has been offered a job. We just sent in our outland application. Is it possible to get a work permit? I know if we had applied inland we could have got an open work permit but what about in this case?

Needs an approved LMO before he can apply for a work permit.

Hi

Sorry what is LMO?

Labour Market Opinion.  The prospective applies to HRSDC Canada for approval after advertising on the national job bank for 2 weeks, that they were unable to find a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident qualified for the job.  The job must be skilled ie in NOC ( http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Welcome.aspx) level A, B or O. before an LMO would be issued.

will it hinder the sponsorship application that is already in process if LMO is approved?
