I'm the applicant and my wife is sponsoring me, she hasn't gotten an email or letter saying she was approved or anything. But I got an email telling me they received the application an gave me my app number that starts with a F and a uci number that I can get into ecas with, it says my name and application received June 8th.which is the day that it arrived in mississugua. Why did I get the email an not my wife?

Woohoo!! Some news finally kourts! Congrats  Maybe they did not send her an email, but sent her a letter through regular mail & its stuck at the PO? Just my two cents... |

I believe its a good news and your wife has already been approved for the sponsorship..
like shamsia said they might have mailed a letter to your wife which is stuck at the PO...

Ecas is not reliable at times. There have been instances of people recieving their visas while ecas showed 'in process'. Also, on form IMM1344, what did you answer to the question "if you are found ineligible to sponsor". Was it withdraw or continue?

Are you logging into eCAS using applicant's info or sponsor's info? If they have already created an immigration file number for applicant means that the decision has been made on sponsorship and the file has been transfered to the VISA office abroad responsible for your contry and the PR application will be processed there... |

We picked withdrawal. And I'm logging in using the UCI they sent to my email an using my info and I'm the principal applicant.

Yep seems like they have approved the sponsorship and your file has been transfered to the VISA office abroad for PR processing. |

If they had chosen 'continue' with application, and they do not get sponsorship approval, the VO will still go ahead and create the file and reject it. But since they chose 'withdrawal', then if the sponsorship was rejected, then the application would have been returned. But in this case, they might not have gotten sponsorship approval per se, but having a file no. is definitely good news! So keeping the above info in mind, I think sponsorship has been approved |

Strange as usually Mississauga would only communicate with the Sponsor... I know it's a silly question but did you provide both email addresses? Perhaps you only provided yours on the application? Who knows but at least it's something. Did the email say anything else? Was it sent from Mississauga? So many questions but could it be AOR from your VO? I wouldn't rely on ecas... mine says in progress again under sponsorship app... and as principle applicant I still can't log in, only my partner can. Oh, the mind boggles! |

eCAS is useless, I know few cases where applicant has landed already and their eCAS still shows 'in process'. |
