Hi All

Is it mandatory for the transcript to be original ? Just today, I noticed that they are requesting the original of transcript.
I sent only a true copy in university sealed envelope.
Do you think that, the VO will request the original.
Do you suggest for me to sent the original before they ask me ?
My status is : RBVO , since 17/09/2011

Thank you OMM,
actually just today I read it in detail & I discovered that they need the original of the transcripts, do you suggest for me that, I have to sent it again or shall I wait until I well be requested by VO to sent it?
As I understand that if my file was Received by CIO, this mean my document is complete, but really worried & I don't want to loss more time waiting till they request me to sent it? but also it is the original and I have only one original.

good, as per new CIO checklist No.6 it's mandatory to submit transcripts in sealed university envelope. if you send copies depend on CIO may return package.

you can write covering letter if it will take time like months by your university to getting your transcripts and degree.
you can also submit proof that you submitted request to get transcripts and degree in sealed envelope by university for immigration purpose. if CIO will accept it then the CIO will issue AOR and transfer your file to your VO. you can submit those transcripts at VO.
but now mostly applicants do not want to take any risk at initial stage becasue some CAPS already reached and getting occupied quickly.
now it's depend on you that how to prove your educational related documents (send notarized or just copies or original sealed in envelope).

By the way I sent notarized copies of all transcripts and degrees and I got PER.
But it is possible that CIO may become strict in future.
But they can only accept additional documents only when your VO asks for it.

If you look closely at the CIO checklist, it says original of transcripts - if it is available.

This clearly suggests (in my opinion) that copies will be considered, at least at CIO stage.

apply for a duplicate original cert from your School.
send that.

I am looking at the most recent (October 2011) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5612E.pdf  and there is no longer reference to having original education transcripts in UNIVERSITY SEALED ENVELOPES.  Could someone confirm that I haven't missed something, somewhere, as it used to be a requirement for the FSW application.  Thanks.
