Without adding IELTS points I have total 71 points.

are you pre june 2010 applicant?? when you applied for FSW???

for pre june 2010 applicants you can send alternate of ielts but this is highly risky and its upto visa office to accept or reject. even after sending alternate proofs visa office can still ask for ielts. so its higly recommended to submit ielts

IELTS is mandatory and regardless you have 71 points it matters a lot. especially for teachers 4121 or 4131 noc you need a good ielts band

so take it seriously and acheive a good band as it will strengthen your application

Hello wxyz123,

Milind Desai got his PR from New Delhi VO without submitting IELTS score. Very strange. You can see his response in the following link.

It depends on what occupation you are applying under. If the IO reviewing your case, deems that your occupation needs a high level of English ability to enable you to work in Canada, then no matter how many points you score, they can refuse your application.

By taking a new test and gaining a high score, you are only going to add HUGE plus points to your application.

If, however you feel your occupation does not need a good level of English and you are willing to risk whether you get a good or bad IO  reviewing your application on the day, then go ahead and not re take the test.

As always, the choice is yours

As long as your old IELTS was less than 1 years old when you applied, you can still use it.
