You have not stated where you are traveling from.

Plenty of people use BA with no problem, some people find them expensive.

Aerosvit is cheapest but it goes via Ukraine better than Air India regarding service. Try Make my trip, Clear Trip, Yatra and cheaptickets.com you might find good deals and if you are an ICICI bank customer make my trip offers 6% discount, Air India offers 10% discount on student tickets but you have to book via their office and they are bloody expensive, Jet airways has many discounts on various brands for students like fast track, american tourister, UPS etc etc.

Hey guys,, We will have a horrible time with the food that they would serve..
Do they allow extra luggage for students in BA??

Indian airways provide Good food (indian food),
and can take extra luggage, (atleat 46 kgs +8 kgs),
thats my personal opinion.
