Hello,

My Irish girlfriend and I are awaiting the final step of her 1 year visa to Canada.  My questions are, what are the chances of her being excepted if she has made it to the last step of the process.  Is there a limit to the amount of visas given out and does the economy being so poor in canada and around the world affect this number.

Thank you in advance for responses

the Canadian government are not particularly open on their immigration quotas, they'll give a forecast target for the year ahead, but no breakdown on categories or any promise to meet the target

just hope for the best

What step and what visa? Is that a temporary or permanent visa application? And what do you mean by last step in the visa?

The current state of economy should not have an affect on Canadian immigration. It is the long-term outlook what determines what Canada needs now and not the possible short-term problems.

I am not an expert, this is just my opinion.
