hubby got an email today Smiley

interview requested for aug 31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we bless God

i'm a bit annoyed at how far away they set it but thankful nonetheless. i'm presently in nigeria with hubby and now thinking of staying until aug.

the email mentioned that accompanying family members must be present. just wanting to confirm...does that mean baby and i need to be there? i'm guessing no. we might still show up and hope to be called to the room with him so that they show sympathy b/c of the baby LOL Wink also, her bday is sep 1 and may prove to be a lovely present for her

thoughts guys?

'Accompanying family members' means the other people who will be immigrating with your spouse. I'm assuming the child and you are already Canadians, so you don't have to go. If your husband has any children from a previous relationship who are coming with him to Canada, they must come to the interview too.
And congratulations on getting an interview date.

If the email quoted his correct file number you can probably be assured that it is authentic.  No, you and the baby do not need to attend as I'm assuming you are both citizens or PRs.  Order the CAIPS notes before the interview so you know why it was requested.  Might not say much but the more information you have going in, the better.

She can also order them herself if she is in Canada.  Follow the instructions here:

The letter sent to the applicant from Accra acknowledging receipt of his file, contains the number on the upper right
