Hi all,

Friend of mine is an international student and he will graduate soon in few months. He has enough points to apply under skilled worker category. Here is my question.
Can he apply through buffalo office or does he have to send his application to New Delhi since he is an indian citizen? He will be staying here while his skilled worker file is being processed.
Any suggestions?

Do you mean in the Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) program, or in the skilled worker stream under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?

Either way, all applications now go to CIO-Sydney, Nova Scotia.  But this forum is for CEC applicants...

Hi Jes,

I was referring to FSW program since his qualification is Pharmacies which is under their list. He doesn't have a year experience to qualify for CEC yet so it's best for him to go ahead with FSW. So can he have his VO as buffalo?

It looks like he qualifies to have his file processed through Buffalo. But what status does he have in the US (e.g. multiple entry visa, work visa)? If he has no status in the US, then I would forget about processing the file through Buffalo. This is because if he's called for an interview, that interview will be held in Buffalo (and cannot be moved). He'll need a visa to enter the US and there's no guarantee he'll get one (we've seen many cases on this forum where people were unable to attend an interview in the US since they were denied a visit visa). And if he's called for an interview and fails to attend it, the file will be refused.

Thanks Scylla.
I think that's what he was wondering too and he is thinking of getting visitor visa.
