I have a question that I hope someone can help me with! I came to Canada on a 1 year temporary working visa through the Canadian International Experience program. Two months before my visa expired I submitted a new application for the same program by this I mean I re applied and sent my visa and all required documentation back to my native country. Since then my original visa has expired and I still have not heard anything back from the Canadian Embassy in my country of origin (Chile). I do not know what I should do since my passport is in Chile I cannot leave Canada and I am apprehensive about contacting the embassy in Chile for fear that my application my get rejected because of me being still in Canada with my visa expired? I went to the immigrations office in Vancouver and they recommended applying for a work visa in Vegreville Alberta they stated that this would technically give me implied status until my IEC Visa was resolved. Is this True? Any suggestions on what I should do?
