I am sponsoring my Common Law spouse to Canada. We were together for 8 months then I went back to Canada for three months.  I came back on July 15, 2008 and will stay one year to be able to qualify as common law spouses legally.

My return flight ticket is for July 15, 2009.  If I dont go by this date that I lose the ticket and have to purchase another one way fare to Canada.

If we date and sign all of the papers on July 15, 2009 and send the application and I fly to Canada the same day is this ok?  They will ask on the application, are you living with your spouse.  We will say yes as I am going on a vacation?

Is this ok or am I better to bite the bullet and stay until July 20 or so and then submit application and go to Canada on July 23 or so??

I just dont want any hassle for the sake of  the price of a one way ticket to Canada.

Regards,

Raymond.
