The title of this thread really gives it away doesn't it. ha ha

I am sponsoring my husband while he waits for PR inland here in Canada.
His child is over in Jamaica waiting to accompany his dad and be landed as well.

We applied INLAND and included his son on the application.

We have received AIP Jan 2011 and have been told the next steps will be

CIC sends a request to Jamaican Visa office to have the dependent child do a medical and fill some forms after AIP is received.
(we have no idea what kind of forms)

The visa office may take several months to contact the childs guardian in his homeland

-we still havent heard anything.

Once the information for the child is processed..and the background checks are complete..if favourable, then the child and his father will be ready to land as PR.

My husband will have his ceremony in our local office and my stepson will be issued a visa to come to Canada and land in the airport..

So...does anyone have a similar situation? experience? Is my understanding of what is happening correct?  How long should we wait to Jamaican Visa office to contcat the childs guardien befor we start inquiring as to when he can get examined and fill these elusive forms?
