So were all waiting on 2nd stage, right? I was wondering why it was taking so long. I was thinking...Doesnt CSIS look into your parents backgrounds too? I pose this question because both my parents have criminal records and maybe this could slow things down? Maybe it's asking a bit personally, but does anyone else have 'criminal parents'?

I don't have the "criminal parents" issue, but I also really want to know what CSIC is check exactly in the background part? Why some people can be waved while some others have to wait for the background check sooo long..

That's the thing. No one knows. Not even CIC. All they know and all we are allowed to know is it's for security, to see if you are or have been in any kind of organization, are a terroist and police reports. Vague, I know.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't got any good news. I wish the nice guy was just predicting the processing time. Before I got my DM, I phoned CIC several times as you did, and most of them told me that " waiting until May, June, July" when it was Feb but I finally got it at March. Therefore, I hope you won't be too depressed cause what they said.
Still here, waiting for to hearing everyone's good news....

just want to give you an update with our application. Finally, we received the approval letters and my hubby's OWP. I'm so happy that we're done with first stage. This is a huge relief on our part.  Just for everyone information, we've got DM for sponsor and applicant in eCAS. Though we still have an overseas dependent for medical. Thanks everyone. congrats....... |

My first time to message on this thread. I feel the same way with some of the people here.
My application Received April 2011.
Start processing May 2011
AIP & Open work permit & hubby eligible to sponsor March 2012
Received additional Info. ( Police cert. & Medical ) May 2012.
Now I am in a waiting mode again for the final decision, Hopefully it won't be too long waiting like what i read here. When i follow up yesterday call centre agent says IO is working on my file. Hopefully everything will goes well. I feel for those waiting for the decision. It could be very stressful!!!

so I requested my FOSS notes via e-mail exactly a month ago. I still havent gotten them. I have also sent off for them a while ago before this and I still havent gotten them. What am I doing wrong? The paperwork is pretty self explanatory.
