"A Canadian Visa site", but that's not official CIC information. Don't trust everything you read on the internet. Maybe someone just tried it out and was allowed to pass. This doesn't give guarantees for everyone. At least my landing agent from CIC said there's no way you can get back in without the special visa or the PR card.

Basically, what Jurjen said.

You can go in and out of Canada anyway you please air, boat, foot, car, bus, horse, as long as they allow you at the border to come in. If you are travelling out of the country you should always have your passport and p.r. card in ALL situations. The only thing you should really worry about is if you are inland, waiting on your approval. That may be risky. My husband is a p.r. and he takes his p.r. card, passport and that's about it. Wewalk across and they give us no hassles. Hope this helps.

Can someone explain me what's going on with my file plz?

Last update on ecas 6 October 2011: Permanent Residence Application Status changed from “In Progress” to “Decision Made” and one line “A decision has been made and you will be contacted.”

Both Sponsorship Application Status and Permanent Residence Application Status show Decision Made.

I call CIC 14 October 2011, the agent told me that my file is still in progress and the only decision he sees was for AIP in April 14, 2011.

I thought that the next step will be Montreal Office sending me a letter, but until now 21 October 2011, nothing, no news.

My timeline:

We received your application for permanent residence on June 8, 2010.

We started processing your application on August 23, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

We received the requested information on April 4, 2011. Thank you for providing the information.

We sent you a letter on April 14, 2011 to xxxxxx about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, pleasecontact us.

We sent you a letter on May 9, 2011 to xxxxxx. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the letter before sending us additional information, as the letter will outline all information that is required. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

We received the requested information on September 13, 2011. Thank you for providing the information.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

I would not travel by air etc without a PR card but on a Canadian visa site, as well as some other sites providing information for new arrivals, the information seems to be consistent - by personal car (stress personal, owned vehicle) okay but by commercial (all other transport) must have a card.

My sister-in-law once went out of Canada with commercial airline to Colombia and forgot to renew her PR card, so she went to the Canadian Embassy and they provided her with a letter to reenter Canada. Hope this helps you...

hello everyone

i'm new to this thread and hope you can help me resolve a few things

i just underwent my medical exams and all the doctors office gave me to submit in with the rest of my application was a letter stating my name and attesting that i've done the tests with doctor's signature and seal. Is that enough for me to send?

Also is the OWP the form IMM1249? i'm planning on sending it with my application. I'm currently in canada on a visitor visa and i'm not sure if there is a better way to extend my stay...if it is the best thing to do, should i include it in my sponsor's envelope or how exactly should i send it?

Please advice

thanks

ya..i went to a DMP

i was just wondering if there was something else i was suppose to get from them. they told me the letter stating i've had the exams was enough.
i read on the guide, however, that i am suppose to submit copy 2 of the medical report. that's not the same is it?

Eddie, well i will try to answer your questions.

1.the letter given to from the doctors office is enough evidence that you have done your medicals and that should be ok.

2.add the OWP application in the envelope and indicate on that  its should be process after the first stage (AIP)

3.You dont need to sumbit any 2 copies of medical report but the DMP will submit your medical report to CIC  when he is done.

4.you must also take steps to renew you status by submitting condition to change or extend my stay forms before its expires and make sure cic received it before its get expired.

hope this will help you....good luck to you enjoy your weekend Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

thanks tozo

that helps a great deal  Smiley

out of curiosity though, why is it necessary for the OWP to be processed after receiving AIP? Isn't the sooner its processed, the better?

CIC won't process your OWP if your sponsor is not eligible and if the one being sponsored is inadmissable.. This is AIP !
It is the responsibility of the applicant to remain in legal status as a visitor or as a worker by extending visitor visa or work visa until AIP is approve.
If OWP is submitted at the same time as PR Application. OWP will be issued the same time as AIP is approved.

Hi everyone,

So we recieved a letter from CIC that we didnt send enough proof for our marriage. So I have already sent more pictures, some emails (we most talked on skype), cards, letter from our friends and  from our bank and we are still waiting for letters from our credit card and phone company. Is there anything else I can send in that would be useful?

Your input is very much appreciated.

Hi Coldgirl!
Did you in your marriage certif from your province and the one you got when you got married? With CIC you have to dot your "i"s and cross your "t"s on even the slightest detail. So please don't be offended. Receipts from vendors if you used any.  Pictures of you and your hubby flashing your rings if possible. Mail with you and your hubby's name on it.  I think I sent in some things with my Canadian address. Pile it on as much as you can. I would have sent some of our wedding cake if I could have but It probably would have made a nasty stain on the paperwork.
