Last week, I got all DMs in sponsor's and applicant's eCAS. And later I received a letter to sponsor saying the requirement of sponsorship had been met.
Today, I got another letter to applicant, saying the eligibility requirement to apply for permanent resident has been met and background check etc will still need to be done.

Is it AIP only?

Or am I going to receive another letter? ? ? ? ? ? ?

So confused. Somebody help please.
This is the letter for first stage only, but because eCas mentions DM on all applications, you can expect another letter within the next days stating that Vegreville approved and the file will be transfered to a local office to prepare the landing.

Once you start working in a new company that offers medical benefits, you need to suscribe to the Private Insurance, it is compulsory. You cannot refuse this plan.  If you refuse this fringe benefit, you will have to pay to RAMQ by filling Schedule K when completing your annual taxes.
That's what I understood, the woman on the phone repeated that. She said she recognized my overseas insurance as the private insurance. That's why I had to explain that she couldn't do that for my case.

Well Technically you don't unsubscribe Jurjen, when you are filling up your annual income tax return (Schedule K) Premium Under the Québec Prescription Drug Insurance Plan , you need to indicate if you had a private insurance provider, if you don't have one, then you are required to pay a premium under the Québec Prescription Drug Insurance (Schedule K) I think the maximum is 500$ a year per individual (19 and older)..
No, the website clearly states that you need to unsubscribe. http://www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca/en/citoyens/assurancemedicaments/regimepublic/regimepublic.shtml

No, the website clearly states that you need to unsubscribe. http://www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca/en/citoyens/assurancemedicaments/regimepublic/regimepublic.shtml
The site says Register/Deregister...this is something that the Private Insurance does for you and is done when you start working, if the company have private insurance, automatically you are « deregistering” from RAMQ because the Private insurance connect with RAMQ, then if you need to leave your job or you been layoff, then the Private Insurance deregister you.  Now, how you deregister your family from the RAMQ? If your husband does not have an insurance and, you think that having him insured will be too costly, then you need to sign a paper saying so.  Then when he does his declaration of revenue, he will need to pay to the RAMQ the annual charges.  Now, if your husband at his work register to the Private Insurance Cia, and each of you decide to have different health insurance, you also need to advise your private insurance.  This is to explain that this “register/deregister  is a compulsory process, is not a process that you need to do like you do when you apply for your driving license or passport.

You're welcome. Wink

@  CanadianCitizen: thanks for the info. If even I get private insurance, I'll check those details with the company just to be on the safe side. My wife ( Wink ) doesn't have private insurance. She's a health practitioner, but her association doesn't offer a collective insurance at this moment. So we're both under RAMQ now. Smiley

Hello everybody, I am new to this forum. I received a letter stating that a decision has been made. It was dated Sept 20. I have to go to Scarborough. How long does it usually take to get the letter from Scarborough now? Does it matters what type of application it is ?

I'll try to tell about the experience as soon as possible. My parents' airplane is landing 1 hour after the my landing though, so I'll be mainly busy keeping them busy. Cheesy

Good day everyone!
I had my landing interview today in Montreal.
I am very happy it`s over, only wish to have the PR card earlier (8-10 weeks to receive it) to have an actual proof in my valet.
It was a 10:15AM meeting, small group in a small room, they called everybody by name, so don`t bother to go an hour earlier to stay first in line,
It is possible to get the SIN right after you have signed your COPR document.
I wish best of luck to everybody !

Lucky you! I tried to drop them off too, but the door was locked and nobody at the front desk.

I got a letter for the landing at first. Because I had to cancel, I send the letter and they called to pick a new appointment. They send letters by default.

Originally I had to land today as well. It would have been exactly the same day on which the adventure started one year ago (CIC received the application). Oh well, one day extra is not a biggie.

(P.S. It's St-Antoine, not Antonie. Cheesy)
