Anybody accidentally send the actual sponsorship agreement in with their application? I made a copy but instead kept the copy and sent the original. Did you get yours back if you did and how long did it take to get it back? I still haven't got it back. Maybe they don't know it isn't a copy? Also, still can't sign into ECAS...  Trying to be patient but getting more difficult. |

You are supposed to send a copy to immigration for their records and keep the original for your records. The sponsorship agreement is like a contract so they want you to keep the original. Plus the instructions did say to make a copy and keep the original however I failed to see this until it was already sent. |

i remember reading it as to send the copy. But again, why does it matter since its printed material off their website...i printed 2 copies of the sponsorship agreement, sent one to CIC and have one with me. Is the expectation that we would send them a photo copy?

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I had sponsored a family member in the past and when i sent in the original and not my personal photo copy it was not returned or mentioned at any time during the process. Unless that was just a fluke in my case.. I think you are in the clear. I believe they just want to make sure you have a copy of the contract you signed.
