Hi Asta and gigi1612 I have notices sth on CIC website, Asta's application was under Family and you are done with in a year, Correct me if I am wrong. while the website shows 9-10 months for the first step and 9 months for the second step. 18 months in total. Under protect person the first step is 5-6 months (in my time it was 7-8 months) and the second step is 11 months. Now I am confused, what is going on? Correct me

Hi khurshe, I think that the second step in Family class depend on your origin country. After the first step, the office in Vegreville sends your file to your country to the Canadian Embassy. So depend on the amount of applications that the embassy has is the time that takes the second step. So the total process can be from 12 months to maybe 18 aprox. Please somebody let me know if I am wrong. Cheers.

What I was told by Call Center is, the processing time for Islamabad visa office is Max. 22 months, the 11 months is the processing time in Vegriville for applicants in-side Canada.

pepe261: khurshe, is not under the "Family Class" category though. Secondly they do NOT send the file to the Canadian embassy in your country. Unless transferred Vegreville will finish the processing of the application. Once they have completed it they send the file to your local CIC office in Canada. Your local office then contacts you of a date and time of when your PR interview is. Also, please khurshe you need to realize that yes even though you are going through inland and yes you are bringing your wife. This is NOT the same category you are applying through. Thus the processing and handling of ours is different from yours. We cannot provide help to you considering we only know based on ours. Let me put it this way nicely: YOUR CATEGORY is "Protected Persons" and OUR CATEGORY is "Family Class". And even though they are both processed at the same office DOES NOT mean they are processed in the same manner. Yours has different requirements. Please do not post as you are only going to keep getting confused and will confuse other new members who come on here. I would like to help but none of us applied in the way you did. Could you please either post your own thread or find another thread/area to post in? Thank you!

khurshe: PLEASE READ THIS! It is the operational manual by CIC that explains the processing of YOUR application (not the same as Family Class) Please follow the link and try to read all of it. If you cannot understand it all yourself, may I suggest you get someone who may read it, translate it, or explain it to you. I hope this helps as it is the best I can do. The link you posted is useful, I had no idea of all these procedures mentioned in this manual, all I knew was from call center operators.
Thanks

That's great news LoveYoung, praying that you get your AIP soon so you can start working!
Wishing everybody a lovely weekend. Still cold out here in the Rockies but loving the blue skies!
Our first trimester screening went well, what a relief! We spent an hour and a half inside the room, baby won't lay down on it's back. The sonographer kept on telling us that we have a stubborn baby! My husband was so happy to see the baby on the monitor because we went to the doctor yesterday and doctor can't hear the heartbeat yet. So glad all is well and baby is growing as expected.

I have another question, once you get the AIP can you ask for permission to go out of the country, or it is necessary to wait to get the PR to finally have the chance to go outside Canada? Thank for everything! Cheers!

Oh yay yay yay Asta so happy to hear that. Did you stare at it for forever in "aww"? I know I will. Happy early birthday to you in case I forget. Hopefully I don't though. We fixed hubby's 2009 return too. Yay. They originally said that we owed like $300 GST back to them and were told they would just take it out of his refund then when done fixing the error they would pay it back. Turns out they took nothing out of hubby's refund and paid him the additional $300 something dollars they said he owed for the error. It is wonderful to have that done with?
hi LY, no i didnt stare at it. only at the photo which i like lol. for me biggest joy was AIP. was such a relief. ..then i was waiting for PR occasionally checking ecas. i got it then landing interview was formality and pr card also. im planning to go home in august so i wasnt in a hurry for pr card. it just came with time. thats how i felt during my process

Hi Asta and gigi1612
I have notices sth on CIC website, Asta's application was under Family and you are done with in a year, Correct me if I am wrong. while the website shows 9-10 months for the first step and 9 months for the second step. 18 months in total.
Under protect person the first step is 5-6 months (in my time it was 7-8 months) and the second step is 11 months.
Now I am confused, what is going on?
Correct me
hi, second stage is unpredictable. on the site it says 9 months but its the maximal period of time. there were people who finished process faster than me

no, they send file to ur local office, meaning the one closest to ur living place in Canada. they transfer it if u dont receive aip and they require interview, and when they complete ur application and send to local office for landing interview. and no they dont give any permission to travel. its on ur own risk. its not advised to leave the country till u get pr card.

My husband sent my application to Vergervill in April 2008. They reviewed it and sent it to our local calgary office in June 2009. I just heard from Calgary office to do my medical and they had received it. I had received my work permit last month and it's say on the work permit that my PR is initially approved. I am just wondering what is next and how long I'll have to wait more. It's been more than 3 years since they have received my application.
