its AIP. they dont mention interview or landing in AIP letter. and yes your sponsor has to receive one too stating that he is approved as a sponsor.
if u applied for OWP with original application, it should arrive too. if not, u should apply for OWP now or/and study permit (same form). and apply on paper not online. paper is much faster for some reason.

so the sponsor approval letter should arrive around the same time as AIP? if we're getting AIP can I assume sponsor is approved? We are at the same address so I guess I will wait a bit longer.  So next i will wait 4-6 weeks for DM letter? attached is the landing date?

I already have my OWP long time ago that expires 2012.  I'm on 50 weeks of EI cause of the new baby in May.

right now I have a SIN start with a 9 which I guess its for temp workers, do i need to contact CRA to get a regular SIN or do I wait for my DM letter to do it? for anyone that did it, does our credit record follow to the new SIN or do we have to contact credit unions about it to?

so in Ontario i can apply for OHIP with the AIP letter? do I just go straight into the Health Canada office?

yes. have ur passport, or other ID, then AIP letter and something that proves ur current address. they dont take just anything. there is specific list.
check here for the list of documents:
http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/GetAttachDocs/014-9998E-82~1/$File/9998-82E.pdf

i had my passport, AIP letter and monthly mailed bank statement with my name and address.
since u are working i guess u will get health card fast. for me, i had to wait for 3 months since AIP date. it should arrive for me soon.

yes, sponsor approval letter should arrive together with AIP. we got them same day. but sometimes people here say that they get only one letter at a time.
umm sorry DM is what? i dont know about 4-6 weeks for ur landing. some people land in few days but thats rare. usually they wait for months to receive landing letter. maximum is 9 months for second stage.

Dm=Decision made? I thought from previous reading you get that DM letter along with the landing date.

never heard CIC sending letter of medical pass etc. As long as u have AIP letter, u dont need anything else from CIC for OHIP.

at first i thought its from OHIP application date, but no. its 3 months from AIP letter date. i was told when applying for OHIP.

Okay I have been away from this thread and forum for as long as possible. Lol. I just can't do it. I just have a need to keep everyone's spirits up and help you all. Now I doubt I will be able to post a quote everyday but if I see one I like I will post it and you all should as well if you like. There is something that I had forgotten to recommend people do before AIP or even after it and still looking for a job.

Practice good job interview techniques. It is so important to make a good first impression. Even if you don't necessarily have all the qualifications if you make a impression at an interview or even when you deliver your resume, it can make all the difference in the world to getting a job sooner. I know I only have a few months left to wait so I am going to use this time to purchase a nice interview outfit, practice for job interview with hubby, and start typing up resumes. I will also be having my mom get my school transcripts and notarized copies of my certificates and diploma to send to me. By the time I get AIP, I should be ready to go and hopefully if you take some of my advise you will too.

I am going to help post links as I find them in hopes that you get inspired and start preparing for getting a job if you don't have one already. Don't ever think it is too early or too late to prepare. Smiley

hi everyone, I'm new here....It's so nice to find a place that people can share info with each other

I sent my application 1st Nov 2010, they received two days later, and haven't heard anything until now, although I know it takes time but I'm still quite stressful because I don't know where my documents are.....I even check the update from official website every single day....anyway, I believe everyone has been being the same as me....

Wish everyone has a good 2011 and dreams come true  Smiley

Good morning.

Well, tommorow is the big day for us. Grin We go to our interview at the local office. I'm super excited and a little nervous.

My husband and I talked about it this morning over breakfast and the truth is..we know each other inside and out, there isn't a single thing they could question us about that we don't know the answer. So we are feeling pretty good about this meeting.

I hope that I will return tommorow with some good news to share with my "inlander" friends.

Have a great day!

Hi Janadian - I wish you and your hussy all the best news in the world. You will definitely comeback tomorrow with good news for us.....

I ordered my husband foss notes and received them last Friday. The only thing it said was that RCMP checks were outstanding and everything else was OK Huh So I'm officially lost now. We had a short BF date of 10 OCT 2010 (we had received AIP on 10 Sept 2010)....However I guess it wasn't ready b/c we still haven't heard back.

RCMP hurry up! Please Cheesy

Have a nice day everyone
