Not silly at all!  It's a a much more deserving situation to be excited about than immigration although AIP is awesome its something that will be forgotten.  A baby well...

 I'm 35 and should probably get started on the babies soon but I'm thinking another 2 years.

Hey just want to check to see how everyone is. Where is everyone and is everyone doing good?
And I know it isn't immigration related and could be TMI for some but me and DH may be having a baby. I am hopeful but I got to wait for testing but I have a lot the signs for it. So everyone could you please pray for us? We would love this miracle for us especially for the New Year.

lilly_inland - Thank you so very much. I am excited too but a bit nervous. Lol. And yes this year is definitely going to be a good one. I knew it from the moment it struck 12 am. I just hope this is a baby so it would explain the crazy stuff going on with my body right now. Definitely something I haven't experienced before. Like now I can't even eat and feel very nauseous. Yuck...

take it one day at a time. For the nausea take Anything Ginger. ginger ale. Even though you hate ginger trust me!> It works!. it is the remedy for nausea. drink lots of water and rest . I have had three children i shd know right?. Ok emet me at chat!.

Love_Young, my heartiest congrats! What wonderful news to begin the new year.
I went to Service Canada and my SIN today. And I also got hired by one of the employers that's been courting me. Woohoo! I feel truly Canadian now.
By the way, for any of you in Vancouver, go to the Service Canada on 10th Ave. East. The representatives couldn't have been any nicer. And I only waited a little over an hour. I've heard horror stories about people sitting around all day, so I feel like I made out like a thief.

Love_young, if the news are true, you couldn`t have a better year than 2011! Congratulation and I keep my fingers crossed for you! As BB said ginger is good for nausea, however for me nothing worked for the first three months, I was even loosing weight but after I turned out feeling very well and energized.

Got my OWP in my grubby little paws today    Still no bites on the job front either,  but hopefully with everyone back this week things will start moving.

My lawyer recommended that I wait with my SIN as long as possible,  in case I get a quick interview date,  that way I only do it once.  Once I get a job offer,  I will then deal with the SIN...

Otherwise - hope that everyone gets good news soon..

Job hunting advice:

Back in my days as a recruiter, I found that a well put together resume was the difference between choosing to call a person or not. If your resume does not stand out. Its not going to go to the "call for interview pile"

Make your resume attractive to the eye. Be different but professional. Microsoft office has alot of very attractive templates for resumes.

Highlight your skills. As much as I want to see what jobs you have worked that relate to the job I'm offering and I want to know you have some education...i really want to know what skills you have to offer my company.

Use spell check! Spelling mistakes on your resume (no matter how attractive it is) says you are lazy and don't pay attention to detail

Dress to impress- If you are dropping off your resume in person, it is just as important to dress appropriate as it is when you attend an interview. Recruiters and secretaries will remember the shabby looking person who dropped off their fancy resume and will sometimes choose not to interview them based on that. Its not politically correct, but it happens

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Of course I will be right here as soon as we hear something.
I'm a barrel of emotions at the moment. lol.  I keep hearing people feed me with my own advice  he he.

Its getting a little unbarable at the moment.  I feels so close to feeling a little more secure but not quite there.

I know people who were willing to give my husband work once he get his permit, but are getting antsy saying they need someone now.
Don't let that train leave with out us! We are almost there! Im worried they are going to say sorry, we had to hire someone...the 20 days later he has a OWP and no job offer because they have filled the position.  ugh.

Im dying to call our family in Jamaica and give them good news. Put a little hope in my stepsons heart. My whole family in Canada and across the world is sitting on the edge of their seats..

I compare this feeling to:

The couple that planned their wedding for months in perfect detail, went through all the moves, excitment, cold feet, last minute errands, overcomming all the mini crisis's that always seem to happen on the day of..its 6pm everyone is there and you are ready to walk down the isle, the groom is waiting finally thanking the lord above that the time has come..you are nervous and excited all wrapped in one .....and the pastor calls in..he's stuck in traffic... it will be another 2 hours until he will make it to the chapel. Ugghhh!!!!
What can you say..you know its all gonna work out in the end, but MAN does it every do a number on those heart strings

Here's to hoping for the best. At least I know I have my partner and best friend to hold hands with and go through it together.
