Spoke with my lawyer yesterday, and due to the speed at which Vancouver work, I will probably only get my landing interview within the next 30-45 days.. Just in time for my birthday hopefully..

How do you all like my new ticker? Trying to be positive about everything. I mean I don't know when or if I will get AIP but since it says it takes 9 months for an answer I just figured I would just count down 9 months from when they received it. At least it gives me something to look forward to and instead of seeing how long I have been waiting for (don't like to be reminded) I can see how much longer until I get some news. I hope the news is good news. |

Still haven't received the AIP letter in the mail. Here's praying it's sitting in my mailbox tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me. We're in some tough financial constraints at the moment, and it'd help so much if I could start working very soon.
Quick question for you, Love_Young. On the chart, it has a category for "Landed." Does that mean full permanent residency? Just curious.

Hi lpeacock, you're very welcome. Well you are part of our inland 2010 family so of course you have to be added. I am hoping that you get your AIP letter ASAP. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for sure. And I know what you mean by financial constraints as we are having them too and this time of year wasn't much help to us either. So hopefully you can get a job very soon and be able to not worry so much about finances anymore. And yes, "Landed" means when you get the letter stating your PR interview. Whenever you get that just let us know and I will put the date you are supposed to land and if you include the office you will be landing at I will include that too. Happy New Year to you. I hope it is a good one for all of us. |

Hi rhysmdavies84 and welcome to the thread. Glad you decided to join us and introduce yourself. I shall be updating the chart with your info and hopefully you will let us when you receive the good news.
It definitely won't be much longer. I don't think your ECAS will be updated before then because I have heard that some only update the very day you get AIP. Either way it shouldn't take very long and from my experience they are usually always processing at least 4-5 days past what they actually state on the processing time on the CIC site.

Thanks suenim! I figured that I needed to get my SIN.
I've found the Vancouver location, so I can take care of that tomorrow. What documents should I take with me to Service Canada? Work permit, passport, ID? Anything else?
And do you know if they issue a SIN right away or if it takes some time?

Oh wooo CONGRATS lpeacock so happy for you and thanks for sharing this good news with us. As stated though you do need a SIN card. From looking at the Service Canada site it looks like you need to bring the following: -Work Permit -Marriage Certificate Here is the link if you want to read it: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sin/apply/proof.shtmlHere is the link for how to apply: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/sin/index.shtmldAnd here the link for FAQ's for SIN: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/sin/index.shtmlAnd I am pretty sure you get your SIN # that day but you won't get the card that day. You will get it in the mail in 10 days. |

Hey just want to check to see how everyone is. Where is everyone and is everyone doing good? And I know it isn't immigration related and could be TMI for some but me and DH may be having a baby. I am hopeful but I got to wait for testing but I have a lot the signs for it. So everyone could you please pray for us? We would love this miracle for us especially for the New Year.  |
