Congrats to those who got the good news.
I log in to CIC website today and finally see something:

We received your application for permanent residence on October 29, 2010.
We started processing your application on December 14, 2010.

I should see this as good news, but I am just so worried that I can't get AIP before my post grad WP expires on September 10, 2011 and I wouldn't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I think it usually both AIP and PR when it shows "medical results received".
Or it has appeared to follow that way on here for some members at least.

It would be great if it was PR for you too.
I secretly hope that I am approved for both at the same time but I will just happy with at least AIP.

I have had medical results received since I have been able to log into e-cas..... I think it has to say decision made twice? As in one for AIP and then again for PR. It won't be PR for TL as do not have the police check and they may not have done background checks??? I wish there was one simple way to know!!  Oh TL do you have FOSS notes?? That would say if security and background done then you would know they only need police check!!

Love_Younge how are you and thanks for creating this thread which is so helpful to many.
Theresa_Lynn so happy for you too we both are in the same boat & this time the tide is our side.

Here is my story Chronicles,

I got total 3 brown envelops dates 6th April 2011, (1) Open work permit until April 2013 (2) Sponsorship approval letter (3) AIP which says "I still need to get police clearance certificate from my embassy (Country of origin) in Toronto.

Though it says on e-cas "Decision has made" & "Medical has been received" doesn't mean P.R. Yet.

Any suggestions & ideas my dear friends?!  

My OWP is valid for two years as well.....hope it doesn't mean they are going to take longer on second stage! I know others have only been given 6 months. I wonder what they base their decision on??

Hope your police checks is done super quickly Mark_Anna!

May I ask those who have OWP after AIP what length of time you were given???

If you haven't send the Police check, you will receive a letter from CIC with a checklist requesting you to get the police report from your country and to go and get your fingerprints at a local office so the RCMP can do a background check on you.

After that, they will sending you the landing interview date (that's what i think).

In event, congratultions for your AIP.

They usually don't request the set of fingerprints or the RCMP checks since most of the time the they do the canadian check it on their own.

After one send the requested documents it takes 2 to 3 months till the new documents are attached to the original file. Then they starts working on the file again. After couple of months you hear something back from them.

I have been requested for new police certificates(since the ones I had initially sent were from the wrong department :/ ) I already got them and CPC received them couple days ago.
I am not expecting to hear back from them any time soon. But I am happy that I can now work!!!

Hi pepe,

When I click on that link it still says June 6. I also tried to refresh my screen and it still says June 6. It doesn't really matter but I just want to know why I cannot see the same dates as you.

I have checked the website of cic from 3 different computers and from 2 different locations and it says June 14th. This is the link:

Now, it may be possible that your server when you ask it to open that page it shows you the previous information, it happens sometimes.
Anyway, the important think is the day that appears is June 14th. And you can check that by phone too.

If the processing times stay at 9-10 months then you should get AIP before your PGWP expires.

We didn't request FOSS notes, but when I called they started the background checks about 2 months ago.

Hey TL could you let me know when you get the letters when they were signed for? I know it says they sent you a letter on the 12th but the actual decision and signature for it may have been sooner. You know what I am saying?

P.S. Looks like from the chart it may be taking 9 months and 3 weeks to get AIP. Yay! What wonderful news everyone and out of the 92 or 93 members I have the chart 50 people have been approved so far. Only 3 transferred thus far and 2 out of those have been approved. I think those are really good odds everyone. So stay strong. They will be able to tell you are genuine by the sounds of things. Let's hope we hear more great news soon.

I have found a new little addiction besides this forum, I went out and got a new cell phone, the Samsung focus...amazing phone. It's like a mini computer. I have been hooked on that all last night and today

Thank you so much girly! It definitely is amazing odds. Yep not much longer now and hopefully I see what I am hoping to see.
Seems based on the chart at least that the odds are weighing in for us so I hope it stays that way. I will so so so happy! I just find it funny how most people have already had AIP (without knowing) anywhere from 4-10 days by the time they get the update on e-Cas or from what I have noticed anyway.

Oh yes, I got a phone at the end of last year. You will find it quite addicting at first. I find any brand new thing you buy and are excited for, you will be. Lol. It definitely has been a great week and I do hope it continues that way until the whole chart is filled with approvals. I am so glad that you can finally have the happiness you deserve.
