Hey every 1

Hope that you all had a good weekend as I enjoyed mine !!

Just a question my wife went for her english assessment test but they are telling her that an AIP letter is not enough  Sad and that they have to contact immigration bla bla bla and that takes time ( just like everything else in this process) anyways does any 1 know where I could get written proof (from the CIC website or anywhere else) that says she eligible for linc classes after AIP?

Thanks  Smiley Smiley

I was able to start French classes with AIP. I think you may need an OWP as well though as there is a code on there that makes you eligable for classes. I will check when I get home, I remember writing a post about it when I went for my assesment in October last year.....

hi komar.  Could you please tell me when you did your medical? And did you send it with your application? thx

Hi abc3896

Ours is a rather long story. We applied in June2009 and did our medicals in the same month. Our application was rejected in Jan2010. We re-applied in April 2010 and attached the same medical as they were valid at that time. We got AIP last month but it is asking redo medicals as the one we attached have expired by now.

Hi Love-Young,

Hang in there.  It will be soon for both of us.  I called the CIC last week and they told me that anytime after April 6 (two days from now), I should expect something and that I could call them back.

The call centre agent was nice and she said the AIP will most likely happen anytime now (from April 6 - May 6th).  I realize that she was using the average wait times for AIP (i.e. 9 - 10 months), but it seems like it is taking just under 10 months now and some people are getting PR close to the same time they receive AIP.

So, keep your chin up.  I had a breakdown about two months ago (that's why I haven't been on here much) and finally asked my doctor for a light anti-depressant, which she gave me.  My dad died two weeks ago and I couldn't leave Canada, so you may not need the anti-depressant.  Maybe just taking a walk and being kind to yourself will help.

Thank you for all you have done on this webpage.  You are a true source of encouragement for many of us.

Stay strong.

Love,
Tuggie

Yes I received it by mail today - (1)their request was received on March 14, submitted the same day by regular mail, (2) second notice from CIC received April 1 (Friday) - scanned and submitted by email only (the same thing that was in the envelope sent to them March 14), (3) landing letter April 4 (Monday)

Thank you all for wishes - honestly it feels like relief more than anything else - I want to finally close this chapter

As am I Tuggie, thank you for being kind enough to share your story.
I am very sorry for your loss. Must be so very difficult. I hope you find healing and strength with time.
Means a lot that you would care enough to try and help me even when your situation is worse. Thank you. I hope I can help you too sometime.

eyeoftheocean: I will definitely try and give myself a big hug. Smiley I do try and lead by example but somedays I need a little push from you all to keep me on my feet. Thanks for doing that.

By the way just any case any of you haven't got to vote, below is the link where I am taking a poll on what everyone thinks the new processing date will be for this week. Just for fun. Looking forward to the results. What time does everyone think I should post the results?

Here is the link: http://www.pollportal.com/use-poll.php?id=677
