Its AIP. if it was PR, it wouldnt say "In Process" anymore.

And yes, it is possible to get AIP and PR at the same time.

We got AIP and we are very happy and crossing our finger the PR won't take as long as the AIP.

Well, guess what,

today I received the second notice from CIC Montreal that I need to make the PR payment and confirm the details - which I did more than 2 weeks ago in an envelope they provided. I wonder where it got lost  . So I sent email with proof and more waiting ensue I guess.

I didn't reply before bcs I just got home!!!
Anyway, I am still waiting for the reply, and yes I received the same email as you did, hoping this work.
And yes as you said I also paid fees in advance and anyways they send me a letter requesting to confirm my info,

Yes I have read this one and i found it very interesting, it s like seeing the whole process from the other side

You're very welcome abc3896.
You are right in that the medical is only valid for a year, however, you do not need to do another one unless requested by CIC.
In some cases for inland applications they are more willing to extend the validity of the medicals so that is why it is advised not to do it unless they notify you saying that they need a second one done.

Let me know if any of you get any new updates. By the way for the AIP approval date I am starting to ask for the date it was approved/signed for on the letter because this is the most accurate of times. So when you get AIP please let me know the date you were approved on the letter when you receive it. Also, if I still have N/A listed for anyones processing date I would appreciate if you would attempt to sign into e-Cas and find out the date. If you are unsure on how to do this, please ask.
