canadiancitizen, you got AIP? I thought you just got that letter that Quebec applicants get. The CSQ?

Angtao, I don't know if that term is address to the sponsor''s approval, I only know that Im been approved by CIC... this is an excerpt from the CIC Guide "If your sponsorship application is approved, CPC-V will send you a letter telling you how to proceed with the MICC. You must attach a copy of the letter to the undertaking application that you submit to the MICC." According to the MICC, once MICC approves my sponsorship, they will issue a Certificate for my husband and with that CIC will proceed to issue an OWP and at the same time, the QSC certificate, plus the OWP letter my husband can get the medicare and the social insurance number (9) along with the right to study French... meantime, CIC will continue with my husband papers, and if everything is ok, then we should have PR within 3 to 4 months...

I was able to call CIC today and got a few info's about my application.  They said they are currently doing background check and i wont hear from them til around April 2012 for 1st stage approval. Following are the questions i asked her:

1. Is my wife approved as a sponsor? she said it comes with AIP altogether...  Can anyone verify this?

2. Is there a way for my wife (sponsor) to log-in to ECAS? she said if it is inland, all files will be reflected on my application, nothing on the sponsor's page.  Is this true?  I tried logging in with my wife's citizenship file number and there was nothing there that says about our application.

3. Did they received the questionnaire i sent back last July asking what i am doing in Canada the past few months? She said they got it.

4. Do they have my medical records already? The agent said they got it April 15, 2011 which is before i sent my application, i had my medicals done at the end of March.  

5. My wife is currently pregnant, do i need to do anything to notify cic? She said to send us a letter and photocopy of birth certificate once the child is born.  Any thoughts on that guys? anyone on the same boat?

6. I asked her when can i get approved for PR? she said 9 months after AIP, which i guess is a typical answer basing on the forums but is not always the case. Right?

7. Since she said they are doing my background check, i asked her does it not come on 2nd stage?  She said it is started on the 1st stage and finalized on the 2nd stage.  Well, i could only hope and pray that 1st and 2nd stage gets approved altogether.

Yes, in the CIC letter they gave me a ID #, went to ECAS in the first page I could see my husband's name, then when I click in the "in process" link it says that my file is in Process since October 3rd..  MICC takes 2 weeks to approve the Sponsor, then informs CIC and the sponsor.  Once CIC gets MICC answer proceed to send the OWP and a later with Decision Made
3. Did they received the questionnaire i sent back last July asking what i am doing in Canada the past few months? She said they got it.

Thanks canadiancitizen, i guess the process is a bit different for Quebec and other provinces.  Hoping for a big jump on the processing dates later today.

ilove, why don't you check in e-cas and see if your file is in process? They update that within 2 days of in process.

     Yes, this is true. You will find out at the same time of AIP.

    Not until AIP.

I don't think so canadiancitizen. I don't think your going to get AIP that soon. I still think that you have to wait like the rest of us. I could be wrong though.

Buima, I am hoping for a big jump but I think it will just be a disappointment tomorrow. They had one less day to work because of Thanksgiving:(
