I don't know sma. I would probably say yes but this is just a guess. Why don't you want your info to go in to the database. What is the problem with that?
I just think it is not clear how the data is gonna to be shared, how it would be managed and updated...
Again,  is there anyone who used the old forms after July 18th? Did you include the new IMM0008 in your package? On CIC's website, it says all applicantion under family class must have an IMM0008 form. In the old forms, we have IMM5002, which asks for similar question as IMM0008. Do I still to include the IMM0008?

My impatience is showing today so I thought forum therapy would do the trick.

Latest update from CIC...

Step 1 — Assessment of sponsor and person being sponsored   10-11  months (initial assessment) (working on applications received on October 29, 2010)

Step 2 —  Medical, security, background checks and other verifications for person being sponsored
Spouse, common-law partner in Canada    9 months Status available online

Not that you needed to know as much as I needed to say it.   Grin

greyghost, I don't want to get you addicted but CIC updates there website every Wednesday. This will be your latest new addiction. LOL

On a different note, anyone excited for the new iphone announcement tomorrow? I am. I made the decision in June to buy one and decided to wait for the next one as the 4 had been out for almost 1 year.

Can anyone help?

I'm Canadian, and my husband is American...
We got married April 21, 2011.
We were told by someone that he could be with me here, as long as he was not working..and he has been with me since the end of August.
Now, I've been doing some reading regarding inland applications - and it looks like he may not be eligible?

Is this true?

Why not eligible? I got married April 9th, 2011 and I entered Canada with my foreign husband, we presented his passport and mine together, the officeer asked me the purspose of my trip, I said went to get married.. he congratulated me, then he asked him trhe purspose of his trip to Canada, he said honeymoon and staying with his wife :-) and then he stamped his passport, and wished us hapiness and he added : I assumed you will be applying for PR inland, right? we said "YES" and and wished us again good luck and he said NEXT to the other people waiting in line, I even asked if we needed to pass immigration, he said nope... go and Welcome to Canada to my husband!!! so do not worry, you are ok.

is there anyone applied inland and  used the old forms after July 18th?
Did you include an IMM0008 in your package?
If so, did you inlcude the old or new version?
On CIC's website, it says all applicantion under family class must have an IMM0008 form. Not like the old outland application package which includes an IMM0008 already. The old inland package have IMM5002, which asks for similar question to IMM0008, thus I am not sure whether its necessary to include IMM0008 in addition to IMM5002. Moreover, CIC doesn't specify which version of IMM0008 to be included with other old forms.

Hi and welcome to the thread cari04,
To answer ur first question according to CIC website it takes 10 to 11 months to get approved as sponsor(1st stage ) and 9 months for ur spouse to get  PR (2nd stage).
Your second question about how to che check progress of ur applicaton u can use the ID client number of ur  spouse or immigration receipt in the CIC Ecase page of CIC website (now approving October  29 applications hoping they have an awsome big jump today)

hello guys!I'm just new here in the forum and very happy to know and read all the topics and i find it very helpful so i started to join here..i started to send my spousal inland application last june 23 and they recieve it on the 24th of june...and for that my waiting time starts already..since i know that this is a long wait to go,i didn't think of it yet and started to become busy cause i don't want to think of my application yet..then months past,i tried to log in into ecas and still i wasn't able to log in..so i just ignore the time then continue with normal life!lol!:),then right now is october so i decided to try to log in into ecas and i was very surprise cause i was able to log in into ecas already and i was happy that i can see my name in there already which states that my application for permanent residency is now IN PROCESS!!wow!!i can't imagine that..but at first its only the start of process so lots of time to wait until it will gonna end..and still hoping and praying that my application will run smoothly and hoping that theres no problem already..Sad(..

Guys out there i just wanna ask because i sent my application last june 2011 and the ecas states that my application is in process..

We have recieved you application for permanent residency on january 24 2011...
we are starting to process you application on june 29,2011.....

my question is that...
1.i didn't send any application last january, instead last june 24 2011 and how come it stated there january 24,2011...very wiered but i just think of that they maybe type it as typothetical error?

maybe anyone here with the same thread of mine maybe we can discuss it will all cross our fingers that our all application will run smoothly and no major problems already...i'll pray for all of us..!!!thank you and GOODluck to all of us!!!
