I'm the applicant.

From the list is seems all other applications were "In Progress" within a month

That is true but as I learnt today there actually 2 parts one where they assess the sponsor (u r able to see progress after 10 to 11 months) and the one for PR that one should be in progress some time when they receive it.You can try to ask same question in inlanders 2010 as they are more experienced.

My application still isn't showing up as "In Progress" (received July 21) - Should I be worried?

Don't worry Angus ,mine show up a after 5 months.....maybe they have back logs  since they just came back from vacations so hopefully you will get the chance to use the Ecas and track your applications status.Are u using your client ID  XXXX-XXXX. or you have to call CIC if they have received your application.good luck.

Angus, I wouldn't worry about that. What I would do is call CIC and ask them if your file is in process yet? It used to take 2-2.5 months so maybe it will show up on e-cas next week.


It is so weird that perk and xanthe sent there apps in mid July and there's went in process on Aug.4. Then we have abozzy and buima which sent there;s in on the same day and have 2 totally different in process dates. Your got there 1 day later and it is still not in process.

Dear inland applicants, I got some confusion about the new applicantion forms (used after July 18th) and the old ones)
1. Is there anyone who used the old forms after July 18th? Did you include the new IMM0008 in your package?
2. At the end of the new IMM0008, it asks for consent from applicant for sharing information related to education and work experience with prospective employer, what does it mean exactly? Does it mean CIC will put the information in a database which prospective employers can search through for eligible workers? Or does it mean after the applicant gets PR and starts looking for a job, the employer can use the information to do background check?

3. Did you choose "yes" or "no"?

4. Since I am thinking to setup my own business, can I choose "no"? Will a "no" answer cause CIC to suspect the truthfulness of the information provided and result a background check (and definitely result a longer wait)?

WTF only 3 days jump? OMG, anybody knows anything new about the delay on october? or only suppositions, like Vacation, bla bla bla! I'm getting crazy every wednesday!

Since july 29, they've started treating OCTOBER MONTH. That makes a whole two months. I hope November goes faster. I mean since theyve already come back from vacation, and I also have the impression that OCT  is a  very busy month, and perfect to apply. I believe the following months should go  faster.  . Lets be positive!

Good idea, at home we are not counting months, days at all, we are so busy following the Amazing Race, going out, vegging out, plus we are following my husband Rugby World Cup and me, I'm following already the preliminaries for the FIFA World Soccer Cup 2012 in Brazil, SO CIC is the least in our mind, husband is busy getting to learn French, and reading anything that could make him aware of the how we do things here ... best things take time!
