Morning all - wondering if someone could clarify something for me.
My current working holiday visa doesn't expire till May 25, 2012, however my PR application was just received by CIC on July 21, 2011.
Am I able to still leave the country freely between now and May 25, 2012, or do I have to now stay in Canada as my PR application is in process?

Your visa is about similar with mine  . Coincident! Officially, you still can travel as long as your visa is not expired yet. Count on Visa please, not a permit. So, the answer must be yes. However, in my own opinion, I think you shouldn't travel if your visa is going to expire in 2 to 3 months. (I would stop travelling around March, April and May 2012 if the visa is expired in May. No reason, just for safety in my mind  ) That's my 2 cents. Other guys can give more inputs for you. |

I can't believe that having CIC update my address on E-CAS can grant me some happiness. Does this mean that they have sort of touch my file? I don't see anything to show my file is in process.  |

Welcome greyghost. Your our 2nd April applicant. This forum has helped me so much with my anxieties. We are all going through the same thing and outsiders just don't understand what we are going through with waiting. You have to promise us that you will stay until the end.
Congrats lyrical. At least Vegreville is on the ball with something.
ilove, I can't believe your file is not in process yet. It used to take 2-2.5 months to start processing. Oh well, we still have to wait the 11 months anyway. I wouldn't worry.

WOAU,, congratulations, we are in the same boat.. meaning in Quebec... so got that letter... cool... hope I received soon mine, cause we applied on May 10. |

ilove - mine isn't showing as 'In Progress' either and mine was received July 21 It's almost like after the 20th, they took a break... I am guessing that they have changed their way of processing it as I used the new generic form for my application. |

I just paid the 1 fee. I can't remember what it is called. You pay the $490 at the landing interview.
